ENVIROSAX ~ Giveaway !!!!

I have gotten to the point that I never use plastic anymore. It was a gradual process.

First I was using the bulky eco-shoppers that you can pick up at the stores - you know the ugly green ones. I forgot those most of the time and got tired of buying them at $1 a piece every time I went shopping. I forgot them because they were bulky and inconvenient - non mobile.

Then I got a set that was great and that I still use. They are sturdy, washable, and very portable. They scrunch up small - 5 to a sheath, or small enough to throw in your purse. The problem with those was just forgetting to bring them with me. I would get to the store and realize I had forgotten them and turn around and go home to get them. 

Getting tired of defeating my eco - purpose, using more gas that the darn bags were worth, I got myself on a schedule that works and now I never have to use the dreaded plastic. I'm proud of myself because it really was important to me not to use plastic, but it was a process to get there. It feels good.

Why am I soooo worried about using plastic grocery bags??? Because 1 bag take 1000 years to bio-degrade in a landfill. And while it's bio- degrading the plastic is being leached into the soil and water. I want no part of it.

When cashiers comment on my bags, I give them the whole spiel - some of them look at me like I'm nuts and they will continue to be fine with using plastic. Some really are shocked and I can tell would like to make better choices too.

We chose "Rusty" from the kids series (pictured above). I thought it would be a good idea to get Julien involved in being responsible for not only his environment, but for helping be responsible for the food that he will be eating.
