EIO ~ Glass Kids Cup ~ GIVEAWAY!!! ~ Ends 8/8

So, I've tossed out all my plastics. That makes it hard when the sippy cup stage comes along. My little one is a very thirsty girl and is very interested how these cup things work.

After looking everywhere local, and not so local, I gave in a bought a plastic sippy cup. Even though it was marked BPA free and yada yada, I feel best when using natural materials - period. So my plan was just to get the sippy cup for minimal use - when on a car ride, or if she really wanted her own cup that she could hold and maneuver herself. Which BTW turns out to be ALL the time! :)

I had to find a healthy alternative. I searched online and I found EIO * flutters eyelashes* I am sooo happy! & It's glass *jumps up & down* It's really glass!

Glass is non-porous and non-toxic which means clean is certain, and no junk going into my baby. The silicone sleeve helps with griping and preventing breaking. Plastic sippy cup was tossed.

The lid is plastic, but the liquid is not sitting in plastic leaching toxins the way regular cups do. No BPA, PVC or Phthalates.  The smiley face on the lid shows kids which side to drink from and the lid promotes good habits for healthy speech and dental development.

This cup teaches kids to sip correctly. I appreciate that. And, there are no valves to loose or store.

EIO makes me feel really good about handing my little one a cup :)

Katz Gluten Free ~ Summer Goodies ! ~ GIVEAWAY!!! ~ Ends 8/5

We LOVE Katz. It's that simple.


Every product we've tried has been flavorful and like home made. When you're gluten free, having convenient, pre-made baked goods can be a life saver. And when they are a good as Katz, it turns into a blessing.


We recently were given the opportunity to sample a few new products. Like always, it was a wonderful treat. Even the two non-gluten free guys in our family enjoyed it.

The Coffee Bundt Cake was our favorite! This cake is perfect for a nice presentation. I'm thinking it would be nice for carrying in to a holiday dinner with family- assuring there is a gluten free desert and sharing the goodness with those unfamiliar with gluten free foods.
The cake is moist and the icing is a rich coffee flavor. Upon arrival, the icing sits in a cup in the hole in the middle of the cake. That way you can pour the icing over the cake for display, or spread it on piece by piece as we did here at home. 

Next we got to try the Apple Pie. Yay! I make gluten free pie crust at home, but it's a pain in the neck. It doesn't roll out well, so I have to press it into the pie pan. So pies I make are a special occasion. Having a pie ready to go without all the work is really nice. The taste is just what you think of apple pie. The crust is flaky and I didn't even have to fuss with it.

The  Snack Poppers are plain, lightly sweetened little poppers. A mix of cookie & cracker, these are nice to have around for snacks. Juju liked to dip  them in nutella :) They are also good with ice cream. Or just to pop in your mouth in passing!


Remember, these products aren't just for those who are Celiac. People who want to live healthy and add variety to their diet should eat gluten free products. We should have a variety of grains, not just wheat. Our modern diet is saturated with wheat - add variety with Katz. You'll be glad you did!

Me and Capri Save & Splurge for BlogHer '11

She was trying to make it last year.

BlogHer '10 was held August 6-7.

Last August 6-7 we were back and forth to the hospital , me in labor, her attempting to get to BlogHer.

Once she realized she was going to be late for the event, she gave me a a bit of a rest and was delivered on August 10th.

Now that she's here and all settled in, she is very adamant about not missing it again.

I've done my part in getting us there by saving as much money as I can on everyday living expenses, so that I can splurge and make it to BlogHer. I have been pulling out my coupons, shopping sales, buying for practical purposes rather than fun.

ShopAtHome.com has been a huge help in my efforts. There I can save shopping online, I can print coupons before I head to the store, and I get cash back when I shop online from ShopAtHome.com. That's what sets them apart from other coupon sites.

Couponing is the thing. I know you've seen Extreme Couponing on TLC. I did some research on how to  become a couponer and tried my hand at it. I am in no way extreme yet, but I have saved hundreds, and am still working on it.


I've got the conference tickets bought, but I am still need hotel accommodations. The thing is, I've got this little girl who has worked very hard to get there. I can't let her down.

Crowdtap & Old Navy - Summer Shorts Party!!!

I love Crowdtap! My latest opp through them was hosting an Old Navy Summer Shorts Party. This is where me, and three friends got to sample a full shorts outfit and accessory from Old Navy. Fun huh?

It's always a full day out with the girls. We have to drive about half an hour out of town, so we turn it into a day of shopping. We did some extra shopping at Old Navy, went to our favorite health foods store, and went out for a nice diner. I wasn't driving so I even got a little tipsy!



This time I took my Mom, Sister, and friend. My brother went with us as well and he did some shopping too. Lucky him getting to hang out with all of us all day - right?

Anyway, as always, it turns out to be a lot of fun. We always engage with the manager and girls who work at Old Navy. They are always shocked at the opportunity and want to know all about it. This time we had a couple really fun girls who were super helpful.

There was also a crazy sale going on. Buy two get one free - everything in the store! You already know!

The outfit above is what I chose and I have a fat silver belt that looks really good with it. I am happy with my purchases.

My intention was to snap a bunch of pictures during the trip, but I charged the wrong battery and only got a few. Oh well, fun was had by all and I help enlist a few new crowdtappers from random shoppers who were curious about what we were doing.

As we were discussing what would make a good promotional giveaway, we decided on cacti & succulents -because of our overall drought across the country. Cacti & Succulents are among the most sustainable plants available. They are incredibly drought tolerant and usually require almost no care.
